Field Probing is an experimental video work that utilizes 3D scanning technology to scan landscapes. As new technologies for recording events emerge, new forms of expression also increase.3D footage obtained as data allows for changes in shooting position and viewing angle that are different from traditional filmic expression. This means that the shooter’s physicality and gaze can be eliminated. I find it interesting to take on the perspective of a ghost-like entity with a gaze that belongs to no one in particular. The scenes captured are ordinary and familiar, yet also not quite what we’re used to seeing.

　3Dスキャナを用いて風景をスキャンする《Field Probing》は、3Dスキャニング技術を活用した実験的な映像作品である。出来事を記録するための新しい技術が増えることで、表現もまた新しく増える。従来の映像表現とは違い、3Dのデータとして取得した映像は、撮影位置や視野角の変更を可能とすることから、撮影者の身体性や眼差しを消し去ることができる。私は、このような誰のものでもない眼差しを持った、幽霊のような存在となる機械の眼に面白さを感じた。見たことあるようなあたりまえの風景。しかし、見たことがないあたりまえではない風景。
